Cheap House Insurance

Cheap house insurance does exactly what it says on the tin, essentially. The term is used to describe discounted cover or cheap policies that have been specifically marketed for those homeowners and tenants that are on a tight budget but still want the protection that home insurance can offer in place. But what exactly does the cost of cheap insurance include?

Cheap house insurance is comprised of various fees and charges. The first is obviously the amount you would need to pay to be fully covered for the duration of the policy, which is almost always a year. However, there are additional charges involved. For example, if you used some of the larger insurance search engines then you may have to pay a fee to them. The smaller ones and some of the larger ones actually work on a commission basis so that you do not have to pay anything. The fee, if you pay one, is usually small though.

Your cheap house insurance premium also includes IPT, or insurance premium tax as it is commonly known. Instead of charging extra, many insurers include the taxes in with the premiums quoted today. The only other charge you may have to pay is if you pay your premiums via direct debit every month. Very few providers will charge you for that now but it is possible so be sure to check! You should know exactly what you are paying so check the charges fully before agreeing to a policy.
